Production at the Newark and Maplewood plant of J. Wiss & Sons, scissors and shears manufacturers, was resumed today after a two weeks strike by about 575 production employes.

A new three-year contract between the company and Local 325, Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Employes. AFL-CIO, was ratified late yesterday by the strikers at a mass meeting in Moose Hall, Irvington.

The agreement was worked out earlier in the day by union and management representatives in negotiation with the State Board of Mediation.

Wage increases averaging 11 cents an hour are provided in the first year of the agreement and 7 cents for each of the second and third year of the pact. Fringe benefits totaling 10 cents an hour also are included in the first year of the agreement.
